YBC Meeting IFC Delegation in Sana’a

On March 12, 2013, the Board of Directors of the Yemeni Businessmen Club (YBC) chaired by Fathi Abdulwasa met with a high level delegation from the International Finance Cooperation (IFC) – headed by Sylvia Zulu, Manager, IFC Sustainable Business Advisory, MENA, Cairo Egypt.
The meeting first viewed YBC’s essential contribution to Corporate Governancein Yemensince 2008 until today in cooperation with reputable international organizations like IFC, CIPE AND MEPI. Some of YBC’s achievements in Governance include publication of both the Corporate Governance Guidelines and the Audit Manual in addition to other publications, organizing two CG workshops,three Family Business Conferences, training for trainers and consultants, awareness seminars, and the establishment of Yemen Task Force for Corporate Governance, etc..
The two parties also discussed futureGovernance cooperation plans with IFC who is a major YBC partner. Aside from CG the meeting touched upon other potential ways of cooperation between the two organizations.
