YBC Meeting with the Minister Of Industry & Trade

The Yemeni Businessmen Club (YBC) held a meeting on Monday 2/7/2012 in Sana’a Chaired by the Minister of Industry and Trade, Dr. Saad Aldeen Bin Taleb .

The meeting discussed a number of issues related to market stability such as governance, social responsibility, partnership between the private sector and the government, and Yemen’s joining WTO. The team responsible for Yemen’s joining WTO outlined the outcomes of their meetings and the advanced stages achieved in both the bilateral and multilateral negotiation.

The Minister stated the importance of focusing now on the stability of the market as a part of the stability of the country’s situation, availability of food particularly with the advent of the holy month Ramadan and the prevention of price and product manipulation.

The minister confirmed the private sector’s role as an effective part of the partnership with the government in the process of construction and development. Also the activation of the dialogue board, the coordinator between the two parties.

For his Part, YBC Secretary General noted the significance of the cooperation between the ministry of Industry & Trade and the private sector to head toward a new phase of partnership. He added, a new prospective should be considered which serves the interest of the country not individuals.

At the end of the meeting the YBC was honored by the minister for its positive efforts and social responsible acts serving the Yemeni community.

The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry Iqbal Bahaadr, the ministry’s Consultant Salem Al-Mamari, plus a number of YBC leadership.
