YBC Elects a New Leadership

The Yemeni Businessmen Club convened a meeting on 14-3-2012 for its General
Assembly to elect a new leadership for the club as a successor to the former one. 

The election was done via the direct secret ballot and ended by the win of 11 members, the results are as follows:

1-   Fathi Abdel-Wasea Saeed.            Chairman
2-  Yousuf AL- Karimi.                           Secretary-General.
3-  Ahmed Mohammed Jomaan.           Assistant Secretary General
4-  Abdulhameed Al-Gazali                    Financial coordinator
5-  Abdolkader Basalama.                     Member.
6-  Jamil Iskander.                                Member.
6-  Mohammed Al-Ariki.                         Member.
7-  Mohammed Murad Mutaher.           Member.
8-  Nail Rashed.                                    Member.
9-  Saleh Al-Rowaishan.                       Membe
9-  Sami Sabha.                                    Member.

 

The former chairman of YBC Ahmed Bazara confirmed that despite the difficult situation in Yemen last year the club managed to perform its various activities successfully although less than planned. He added that the current period is very sensitive and the private sector is facing huge challenges. He also called for the enhancement of  YBC’s role and its administrative leadership.

The new chairman of the club Fathi Abdelwasae Hail explained that the club’s plan in the next period will concentrate mainly on developing and spreading awareness among the club’s member and their employees to become more efficient and effective. The plan includes the YBC’s effective presence and interaction with the economical issues related to the daily suffering of the people in general and the private sector in particular.  In addition to its plan to hold the Third Family Business Conference as well as to activate the Corporate Governance on the private sector in a step to encourage it  to implement it. It is also participating in the National Dialogue Conference - and any other related conferences- through the presentation of its economic vision.

The delegate of the Ministry of Social Affair and work gave a speech at the beginning of the meeting praising the role of the club as well as its consistency in holding its periodic meetings, and finally the obligation to fulfill its annual plan hoping that the YBC becomes a model for the private sector in Yemen.
